Nantucket Houses was created by Stephen Maury, Principal Broker and owner of Congdon & Coleman Real Estate—an institution now celebrating its 95th year of service.

As a lifelong islander with over two decades of local real estate experience, Stephen's roots run three generations deep. Real estate is fundamentally the family business, a legacy begun when his grandparents founded an island brokerage that continues to operate today.

Stephen's father, Larry Maury, spent nearly 50 years in general contracting and development, shaping several of the island's notable neighborhoods including Naushop and Long Pond. Today, Maury Associates General Contracting is owned and operated by Stephen's brother, Dustin. Stephen carries the same tradition of thoughtful, context-aware development forward through his own work on Grey Lady Lane, Maple Lane, and the ongoing redevelopment on Woodland Drive.

His real estate practice is inseparable from deep civic engagement. After nearly 15 years serving on Town of Nantucket boards and committees—including 12 years on the Finance Committee—Stephen currently serves as President of Habitat for Humanity Nantucket.

That combination gives Stephen a rare command of how local zoning, regulatory frameworks, and public policy actually shape real estate value and neighborhood character.
